Since the last show....
Hi All,
I can't believe how popular this little podcast has become. To this day, I keep getting emails asking about the show. As you can see from the dates of the posts, I haven't been here for quite a while (Actually, since about the time I graduated from College!). Unfortunately, I won't be doing any more podcasts for the time being although that may change in the future. These shows were being hosted on my own personal server which I have since decommed. Some of the shows can be found on archive.org for those of you who are interested.
Since the last show...after graduating College I have obtained my CCNA and started working as a network engineer for a large mining company here in Sudbury. Initially, I was tasked with supporting a world-wide data network which gave me alot a real-world experience. (Hang in there with your certs...they are very important!). Since then, I have moved on to network architecture and design where I was tasked with developing and implementing a new VoIP network for Sudbury and the Eastern Seaboard operations. I was part of a team of dedicated network engineers that helped with this massive project. It was alot of fun and very exciting. That kept me busy for about a year. I essentially replaced a layer-2 based network consisting of hundreds of switches spread over a vast geographic area with a new, contemporary, layer-3 switched network complete with Cisco 6500 switches with RSM modules and an entire POE infrastructure using 3560s, 3750s, 4500s, and other goodies. I've been intrenched in Cisco, day and night for a few years now. I've been very fortunate to be able to work in a place where my 3 years of hardcore Cisco training was truly tested. I've done everything from configure switches, routers, VGs, CiscoWorks, Unity, CallManagers, Access Points, WSMs to having complete fiber polelines installed and everything in between.
Its been a fantastic ride! So as you can see, I kept busy and was not able to keep up with the shows. I hope to get back to them soon.
Regards,
Brian

Shows can now be downloaded
The shows can once again be downloaded. I still haven't gotten around to having someone host this site so bear with the slow download speeds as I am serving them up via my own system.
Thanks for your patience

Podcast On Hold
Hi folks,
At this point I thought I better let everyone know that the show will be on hiatus until at least April when I graduate. I've gotten alot of great feedback regarding the show and when I will be doing the next one. I was hoping to get them out more often but real-life gets in the way of doing that.
So hang in there. Please feel free to keep the emails coming. I can still address your questions and comments.
Thanks all
Brian

Server is back up.
I've upgraded my server. The links should be available for downloading once again. Note that the url for the mp3's has changed slightly. The appended :1500 in the url has be replaced with :1100.
Also, some of you have been asking me where you can get show #1. You can download it directly from this site. Just look at the right-hand column under the "Previous Posts" section. Scroll to the bottom and download the shows directly.
Thanks for your patience.

Happy New Year!
Hi folks,
I hope to have a new show put together soon. Please hang in there. I've been getting a tonne of hits to my site this month and my server is showing it so please bear with me as I try to keep things running smoothly.
Again, thanks for all the support and the interest that all of you have in Kryptoradio. I had no idea that this podcast would become so popular!
Stay tuned for the next show. I'll be covering WAN technologies such as point-to-point leased lines, ISDN and Dial-Backup as well as Frame-Relay.

Show #8 - Scaling IP Addresses (CIDR, NAT/PAT)
Scaling IP Addresses using CIDR, NAT, and PAT (34.1MB)
Running time: 74:36
Click the link above to download the mp3 or use your favourite podcatching client to sudbscribe to my feed.
Kryptoradio is now a proud member of the TechPodcast Network!
Yes, it's true. Thanks to everyone who has subscribe to the show. Since there has been such an overwhelming response I will be putting shows out more often however, I havent decided on a schedule yet. Any feedback regarding the issue would be great.
In this episode I discuss techniques used to allow IP addresses to be conserved. I mention CIDR notation along with NAT and PAT concepts along with an overview of IPv6.
Like all shows, this one contains alot of material that could be better understood by actually doing hands-on exercises. If you need help with any of the concepts I talk about please contact me and I'll try my best to clarify anything that needs...well...clarification.
